We live in a crisis of belonging as one of my teachers, Charles Eisenstein, has explained it.
This crisis stems from a deep, long, and traumatic state of separation that we as humans have brought upon ourselves.
I sense the genesis of this crisis took place several thousand years ago when certain groups of humans began to believe that they were separate from nature, and that humans were superior to Her, and all other forms of life.
When humans began seeing themselves as being separate from nature, and being superior to Her, they began cutting themselves off from important sources of love, life, and belonging.
So, as Charles Eisenstein also talks about at length, separation is the the core wound that we are experiencing as humans—separation from the earth, our bodies, our fellow humans and communities, healthy food, water, air, etc.
Wholeness, as I see it, is belonging to a larger web of life—being a “part” in a larger “whole,” and knowing you’re being held, seen, and supported within that larger “whole.”
I think that many humans have a deep sense (probably unconscious to the majority) that our way of living and being on the earth is deeply harmful, problematic, and unsustainable. I believe the Ancestors are among the benevolent spirit forces working to call us back into right-relationship with the Divine and greater web of life!

As humans, we have become separated and disconnected from the things that bring us a sense of wholeness, nourishment, and belonging.
